How All About Crochet creates, checks, labels, updates and corrects the patterns, tutorials and articles it publishes.

This policy explains how content on All About Crochet is created and maintained, so you know what to expect from every page.
Our standards
Original. Patterns, tutorials, images and articles are created for this site, commissioned, or used with explicit permission. We do not copy, scrape, spin or rewrite other people's work.
Accurate. We check stitch counts, measurements and technical explanations before publishing, and we correct mistakes promptly.
Clear. We write in plain language, explain abbreviations and include stitch counts so you can check your progress.
Honest. We don't publish invented reviews, testimonials, credentials or first-hand experiences.
How patterns are created
- Design. Each pattern starts from a clear goal — a skill to teach or a project worth making — and is designed around it.
- Writing. The pattern is written using a consistent template: materials, gauge, abbreviations, notes, row-by-row instructions, assembly and finishing.
- Technical check. Every row and round is checked line by line: stitch counts, repeats, increases and decreases, measurements and yardage estimates.
- Making and testing. A pattern keeps the Not yet tested label until it has been made from the written instructions. When it has been made, the label is updated and photos of the finished item are added.
- Publishing. The page is reviewed for clarity, accessibility and accuracy before it goes live.
Testing labels
Each pattern shows one of these labels, and we only use the ones that are true:
- Not yet tested — the pattern has been checked on paper but not yet made from the written instructions.
- Made and checked by the designer — the designer has made the item from the written pattern.
- Made by independent pattern testers — one or more people outside the site have made it from the pattern. Testers are only named with their permission.
Authors and reviewers
Every pattern and article names its author. A “Technically reviewed by” credit only appears when that person actually reviewed the content.
Use of AI and other tools
Some content on this site is drafted with the help of AI tools. Drafts are fact-checked before publishing — including stitch counts, measurements and technical explanations — and the site owner is responsible for everything we publish. We don't use AI to invent testing claims, reviews, testimonials or first-hand experiences, and a pattern is only labeled as made or tested once a person has actually made it.
Images
Images are our own or properly licensed, and credited where required. Many pages currently use illustrations rather than photos; these will be replaced with photos of finished items as patterns are made.
Dates and updates
Pages show a published date and, when content changes meaningfully, an updated date. We never change dates just to make content look fresh.
Corrections
Found a mistake? Email akramafkir@gmail.com with the page and details. We review every report and update the page when a correction is needed.
Advertising and affiliates
The site doesn't currently show ads or use affiliate links. If that changes, advertising will never influence what we publish, ads will be clearly separated from content, and affiliate links will be disclosed. See our affiliate disclosure.
